Best of 2023

 Top Music

1.  Alan Palomo - World of Hassle  How long ago was Neon Indian;s Vega  released?  I liked that album.  Lead creative guy Alan Palomo released World of Hassle as a solo effort.  Very fun indie pop.  AOTY!

2. Alek Lee - You I  Israeli music artist and DJ, Alek Lee blends many genres together to produce cool music that transcends them all.  There is pop, reggae, psychedelic and others swirled into a wonderful concoction.

3. VA - Café del Mar XXIX A compilation album that sure delivers for your money.  Twenty-three tracks of Balearic, chillout, and downtempo tracks that will get you in the groove.

4. Emma Anderson - Pearlies  Beautiful indie rock, indie pop, dream pop music.  This lady can sing and harmonize and is a brilliant songwriter.

5. Janelle Monáe - The Age of Pleasure  This was my top R&B pick for 2023.

6. Brijean - Angelo (Deluxe) Psychedelic music from San Francisco transplant to LA.  Brijean reminisces about days past in SF while now safely ensconced in SoCal.

7.
Caroline Polachek - Desire, I Want To Turn Into You  Fantastic indie pop album with many songs that could have been singles hits.  This was in heavy rotation on my playlist for much of the year.  I love her sense of timing that keeps you off that 1/4 beat and then rewards your patience with beautiful harmonies.

8. Nabihah Iqbal - DREAMER The title says it!  This whole album is dream pop music for those who love the genre.

  9. Kali Uchis - Red Moon in Venus  Kali came out with another beautiful R&B album.

10.
Yazmin Lacey - Voice Notes Not too many artists putting out intricate Neosoul.  Yazmin must have some great jazz musicians backing her.

Maybe I will add to the music list if I get any comments since my list goes out to at least 30 albums.  But, I talk to myself enough already.
